The outrageous story of the Four Bob Job Cover Up
There's not too many benefits of being the youngest in a family of eight, that is unless of course all your elder brothers and sisters had great taste in music, and you happened to grow up in the seventies. I've heard Bob Dylan as long as I can remember remembering. His songs have been a constant companion and provided an unattainable benchmark in song writing that I don't think anyone will ever surpass.
The idea for the Four Bob Job Cover up came from a conversation with a friend who was complaining that most bands only cover the well-known Bob standards. I'm not even sure that's true, but let pretend it might be the case, so here's me and my Conspirator friends looking to set the record straight.
Those who Conspired
I would like to extend a huge thank you to the following Conspirators, both distant and near:
Kathy Rust - For an amazing vocal performance that literally rattled the window frames when we recorded her voice. Kathy sings on Outlaw Blues and Ballad of a Thin Man.
Di Blackham - Many thanks to Di for the beautiful piano and Hammond on Ballad of a Thin Man.
Russell Edwards - Huge thanks for wicked Electric Organ and Hammond on Highway 61, and bringing the Orchestral Strings on Ballad of a Thin Man.
Mark Cincotta - Massive thanks to my Swamp Donkey brother for bringing his amazing beats to Highway 61 and Outlaw Blues. He never fails to bring the noise.
Timo Oehkle - A special thanks to the Ruhr Valleys finest bass player for locking in a tremendous bass part on Highway 61. Vielen Dank, mein deutscher Bruder.
Howard 'Ronnie' Bell - Blessed to have one of the finest blues guitarists I have ever had the pleasure of playing with, lay down the solos on Outlaw Blues.
Geoff Squires - Huge thanks to another veteran Conspirator, the Welsh wizard of the Harmonica, bringing the outlaw to Outlaw Blues.
Gavin Cattanach - Last and by no means least, big thanks to Gav Cattanach, one of the finest musicians I've been lucky enough to coerce into being a fellow Conspirator, for the beautiful harmony vocal arrangements on Ballad of a Thin Man.
